This workshop aimed to teach justice-impacted individuals how to set and achieve S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) financial goals. The session will provide practical guidance on financial planning, goal setting, and effective strategies for managing personal finances.

This workshop will focus on providing justice-impacted individuals with the knowledge and resources necessary to find affordable housing in New Orleans.

This workshop, in collaboration with Honore Credit, will focuse on educating justice-impacted individuals on effective strategies for rebuilding credit. Honore Credit is generously providing participants with one year of free credit repair services to support their journey towards financial stability.

The workshop is aimed at providing justice-impacted individuals with foundational knowledge and practical skills for effective budgeting, helping them manage their finances, build financial stability, and achieve their financial goals.

Participants will learn how to set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals. They will also gain practical strategies for tracking progress and staying motivated to achieve their financial objectives.

Participants will analyze their income and expenses and create a spending plan.

Participants will learn the basics to financial management and explore free programs designed to help individuals manage their income and expenses.

Satsuma Real Estate is proud to host its annual fundraiser “Building by Boiling”. This seafood boil cook-off will benefit PEOPLE’S HOUSING+, a New Orleans-based non-profit that provides pathways to homeownership for low-and-moderate income New Orleanians.

13 teams will be competing for two different titles: Judges’ Favorite and Belle of the Boil (fan favorite).

Each ticket will include all the seafood you can eat. Kids 10 and under are FREE. The event takes place from 11am-4pm, with the first boil coming out at 11:00am. In addition to the seafood competition, there will be live music by The Original Pinettes Brass Band and Flow Tribe, silent and live auctions, and a prize draw.

Louisiana Insurance Deputy Commissioner Ron Henderson will be leading a workshop on insuring your home. In this workshop, attendees will learn about the importance of having homeowner's insurance and the coverage options available to them. Henderson will also provide tips on how to ensure that their homes are adequately insured, including how to accurately assess their home's value and how to identify potential risks. Participants will leave the workshop with a better understanding of the home insurance process and how to protect their homes in the event of a disaster.
